Three Vampire Movies

Before Reading Loud As Bones

Bombarding people with personal recommendations is my love language. So I thought, why not share some love?

Here are a few of my favorite vampire movies that, for some reason, not many people seem to know.

Enjoy!

The Moth Diaries (2011)

This movie has that in-built Carmilla vibe, girls-only boarding school, dark academia, female friendships, and perverted teachers who think Lolita was a romantic story. I absolutely devoured this movie.

Byzantium (2012)

Nothing lures me in more than complex mother-daughter relationships, and this movie definitely delivered. It’s a very sad story about two vampire women always on the run, confronting patriarchy’s hold on women’s bodily autonomy and men’s entitlement to create life without taking responsibility for it.

The Hunger (1983)

This beautiful vampire movie starring Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie explores themes of immortality, aging, and the inability to let go.
