I regularly find myself in a reading slump these days. There are so many wonderful books out there, and yet, I struggle to read.
I think the primary reason is that I work with text all day, writing and editing. Add in managing my social media accounts - which usually ends in doomscrolling and consuming content “for inspo” - and my brain cells are honestly fried. I need to do something about it.
But I’ve found that reading a novella is the ultimate cure. Bite-sized reads are pure magic when you’re feeling uninspired, and they often spark the urge to dive into longer books in the genre!
I handpicked 12 horror novellas, and to be completely honest, I haven’t read all of them yet. I’m making this post partly for self-accountability - I need to read them all!
I hope you enjoy, and I hope this helps if you’re in a slump too.
